New Setup Wizard
Posted in BlogSvc, jQuery by JarrettV on 12/22/2008 11:29:02 AM - CSTThe next release will make setting up BlogSvc.net very simple. You won't even need to manually edit the config files as they are done as part of the wizard.
Wizard Steps
The wizard currently has 3 steps:
- Test your installation
- Choose your setup method
- Basic settings
We will be adding more steps in the future for setting up your categories and choosing theme. Also, we have not yet added support for importing from existing blogs or for more advanced setup scenarios.
About Testing Your Installation
The first step tests some needed functionality of your web server to see if it is working correctly. This is done using jQuery so it all occurs behind the scenes. However, the wizard will show which test is executing and the result of each test as it is performed. If any errors occur, you have the the option of re-testing or continue anyway (as seen in the screenshot above).

W2k3 with ASP.NET 3.5, MVC 1.0 and all the fixin's, totally up to date. This is the only site on the server which seems to have any issues whatsoever. GET and POST function just fine on the other sites, yet throw errors here. There are no config differences between this one and any other site on the server. Suggestions?

Using Win2K3 x86 with SQL2K5. All patches and updates installed. Vanilla setup, with basic security lockdown using Belarc as a guide.
